Long before Lori Needleman's España became a documentary photography project, I found another way to share the country I had grown to love.

Between 2012 and 2017, I wrote travel and culture articles for The Huffington Post, introducing readers to Spain's lesser-known towns, traditions, and everyday experiences. My goal was simple: to encourage others to look beyond the country's famous landmarks and discover the people, places, and stories that had inspired me.

Looking back, those articles marked the beginning of the journey that eventually became Lori Needleman's España. They taught me that photography and storytelling are at their best when they invite people to slow down, look more closely, and discover the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary.
