What began as a fascination with one of nature's most extraordinary flowers soon became an exercise in learning to see differently.

Rather than photographing orchids as botanical specimens, I became captivated by their quiet elegance—the graceful curve of a stem, the delicate symmetry of each bloom, and the remarkable diversity hidden within a single family of plants. Every flower revealed something unique, inviting me to slow down and look more closely.

As the collection grew, I realized the photographs were about more than orchids. They were teaching me patience, observation, and an appreciation for the beauty that often goes unnoticed. Long before I began documenting the people and traditions of Spain, these flowers quietly shaped the way I would later approach documentary photography.

The exhibition introduced visitors to the extraordinary variety of the orchid family while encouraging them to pause and discover the intricate details that are so easily overlooked.

Looking back, I realize this exhibition marked the beginning of something much larger. It taught me that photography isn't only about finding extraordinary subjects. Sometimes it is about learning to see the extraordinary in ordinary moments—a lesson that continues to guide my work today.
